1. Legislation: Legislation dealing with the use of languages

There are neither constitutional provisions related to linguistic rights nor language law.

Racial Discrimination Act (1975) prohibits discrimination on grounds of race, color, descent, or national/ethnic origin.

All states and the federal government have language policies that use the principles of the National Policy on Languages (1987)
