A PROTOCOL SIGNED TO SUPPORT NATIONAL MINORITIES

The Plenipotentiary Representative for Religions and Nationalities of the Council of Ministers of Belarus and the Department of National Minorities and Emigration of the Lithuanian Government signed a protocol on conduct of the joint actions in 2008. Both sides have agreed on measures aimed at supporting Belarussian minority in Lithuania and Lithuanian minority in Belarus.

In line with the protocol, both countries will help each other, among other things, to set up Sunday's national schools, organize seminars and other cultural activities for the diaspora, support minority public associations, and organize roundtables dedicated to the development of ethnic communities living on their territories.
